And all this with a very young team, the USA has a bright future with me and Norbert thanks to our work, and you want to come ready and do nothing, you would waste the potential of this national team

Ireland only has 11 users. Ireland generates few players, and therefore this strategy makes perfect sense.

You don't want to compare Ireland (3rd in the Qualifying group) with the USA. The USA has a great capacity to generate players, the USA is currently a great team... and after 5 seasons you have the USA in 47th. There are no players who can save you. The impact of your players in the USA is much smaller than on a national team with few users, and as a coach, the results are below expectations.

I didn't say I don't want to coach young USA players. I just think that this is not an argument for these elections. It would be an argument for elections in Ireland, or in the USA U21, but not for the USA senior team.

You're always saying that you've moved up the rankings. I still haven't realized that. Did you move up from 48th to 47th this season? Is that what you're saying?

A week before, you were in 49th. One or two positions are nothing. And you've been in the USA for 5 seasons. I would like to know what the USA's ranking was 5 seasons ago, which is when you started working... so we can know if the USA improves or not. In my first season in Portugal, I went up from 41st to 35th I think. You, with 5 seasons, should already be close to 32nd.

You don't develop national teams at all, you don't look at the long-term project as I do, the USA has the best seasons ahead of them, thanks to, among others, the work of me and Norbert, and you want to come to a ready-made situation and stop developing them and take the praise for the fact that we have rejuvenated the national team and now they will have their best seasons ahead of them, it's a bit weak
2024-03-14 19:55:29
"So you admitted that you don't want to train Americans, for me this disqualifies you as a national team coach, if you want to help in the development of the team, you have to train their youth, which was shown by the example of the Irish national team, where two coaches trained young players and they did a lot for a very weak national team. good national team, and you only want to rely on someone else's work, giving nothing of yourself."

See, for me this is absolute nonsense, and why I'm concerned we're going to be stuck with a mediocre (at best) senior NT coach forever. Yes, I'm not at all impressed with your overall performance since I've returned to the game. Coaching the team to success - for me - is the primary job. This takes far more time than anything. Covering up for this by saying "hey, I buy and train American players" for me is a crutch.

"As for friendly tournaments, they have become a very important element of national team matches - 90% of the selectors have already understood them and most of them sign up for them."

Also nonsense. Nobody remembers who wins irrelevant tournaments. I certainly wouldn't waste my best players in them while there were 23,24,25 year olds who could use the experience a little more than the divine experience star player.
Especially when you keep failing out of the real tournament when it matters, repeatedly.

The reality is our senior NT is 47th, and our U21 team is reliably in the top 30. 24th right now.

I also think this is only relevant for Norbert. As a U21 coach myself (although I've stepped down because a native Israeli player would like to run it, going forward) the bulk of the work of that team involves both tactics in tournaments and giving the players a good start on development, because many, many long term managers here quite frankly stink at logical player development.

However, I've left Jango the Israeli U21 team in far better shape then I received it from my predecessor, because I sent all the emails over time, helping to get what players we have developed more intelligently for U21 use. This further has the strong potential to improve the senior team as development from age 17-22 sets a crucial foundation for any player. I tracked player development via Sokker Assistente weekly, and coordinating the training of 20-30 kids takes far more 'work' than simply training some American players.

Honestly, the training American players makes more sense for Norbert as he cuts out the middle-man in player development. Even so, he can only take so many kids - 8? 10?

Great point Adi! I weirdly hadn’t considered why you train so many U21 players only that you do until just now.

It seems like U21 ranking closely correlate to NT rankings and with more training of U21 players we should have a bright future in a few seasons.

Not only do we have more participation with youth academies but players like DeddeKnight and Saturner will help immensely in improving NT quality to generate better results.

If we do not improve within a few seasons in ranking then that’s a problem.

Adivip naar Sebek
Exactly Sebek, I'm glad that you and most Americans understand it, the U21 results are our joint work and thanks to the results and joint work on training we will have better players, and therefore we will improve the ranking of the U21 national team, which will translate into the senior national team . Without training we would never have achieved this.
2024-03-15 15:01:56
See, no offense, but I see this exactly the crutch Adivip thinks he deserves. - current and present results regardless.
So, what, as a nation we're just going to continue to accept poor results for the next three cycles (after he's already had several, again, with fully grown players)?

Youth academy participation has nothing to do with him, and more to do with Norbert who was constantly (well, every season) pushing me to start my own.

Now, I will say that I do not know why these other guys (saturnerm DK). If that was something you actively lobbied for personally, then that is certainly a credit in your favor.

At some point though, and I believe it's long due, results have not been good enough.

Plus: if you look at this link: https://geston.smallhost.pl/sokker/nt/team.php?id=404 --> the elections history box specifically, you'll see that from seasons 55 through 63, we qualified second in group every Cup. That just further reinforces my argument that Adivip has not had subpar players to work with.
2024-03-15 15:30:35
I completely disagree with you, when it comes to results, we are currently the second best team in North America, which was confirmed by the results.

And participation in the academy is very important when it comes to the results of both national teams. I have already given the example of Ireland, where the arduous and long-term work of the selectors brought the national team from poor to very good.

Additionally, the team was rejuvenated, we have the best age groups ahead of us and it didn't happen on its own, we had to train these players, find them at the TL, and buy them.

And you provided this link to the U21 national team, not the seniors, so another invalid argument. From season 46 to season 63, the US seniors qualified for the World Championships only once and now, by training youth, we want no player to be wasted and well trained, which will bring benefits and we will regularly qualify for the World Championships.

And Releme relies on results that he doesn't have, and what's more, he doesn't even intend to try to train players for the national team, he has no plans for the development of the national team, because according to him, there's no point in training players for the national team... This should catch fire immediately. warning light. In fact, he has nothing to offer himself.

But I'm glad that most Americans know what is most important for the national team :)
2024-03-15 16:10:07
- Yes, I provided the U21 link. That was intentional, to demonstrate that you were given good players to work with in previous seasons. One could argue better than Norbert is putting out now (based on actual results).

As a result, I am not at all convinced you're going to produce better results in another year. I'd make the more realistic argument that your main argument for NT coach retention is you holding young American players hostage.

- Yeah, most Americans don't actually care about results in this game, or I'd still be in A-league today.

Most of these games are friendly games. I have defeats and victories. Example:
https://sokker.org/comment?matchID=39667009

I also have excellent victories... in qualifying games! But you only put the defeats here. In global terms, considering defeats and victories... I placed Portugal, after 4 seasons, in 34th place in the ranking. Portugal was in 41st.

In the last Qualification that I failed for Portugal, I lost, for example, these games:
https://sokker.org/comment?matchID=40242037
https://sokker.org/comment?matchID=40242055

These teams were much, much, much superior to Portugal! If you lose 6-1 to Colombia... you might have lost 12-0 if you were in my place, in these games. I was unlucky in the draw. You had teams that were very close to the USA.

Portugal - Slovensko 0:3... ok! I got a red card. But 15 days later, I beat that same team 5-0.

The global metric, which is the ranking... says that I have better results than you.

Anyway... you already had your chance in the USA, and you failed all 3 Qualifications. You shouldn't be holding on to the seat. You should understand that this is the time to give way to someone else, to try to do better. You've already had your chance. Now someone else must be given an opportunity.

I recognize that you are a hard-working person, I'm sure you did your best... but you must put the USA first, not your interests. I'm sorry, but despite all that effort... you weren't able to do it. Take a break, retrain, and come back stronger and better in a few seasons.
2024-03-15 19:47:19
The situation in the US is not as great as it may seem from the outside. Of the 66 users, only 22 play in the junior league. I think a maximum of 30 users run junior schools. Of these 66 users, 15 have joined the game in the last month and I suspect that most of them will not log in to the game more than once. In such a situation, senior and U21 coaches should engage in training of prospective players on the transfer list. Of course, this is only a drop in the ocean, but such commitment is necessary. I encouraged the establishment of a junior school, because each of them is worth its weight in gold. After all, each of us cares about the development of our national team.
2024-03-15 20:58:19
Exactly Norbert, we must set an example in training USA players and encourage the rest of the Americans to establish junior high schools and schools for the best USA players, and you, releme, if you don't want to help, at least don't bother, you only have the support of one American and you don't think about the good of the USA at all, only about yourself.

And you only have the support of a Pole… but this is an election for the USA.

It is useful to train USA players. But the USA is not your team, it is a national team. You can't fail, fail and fail... and still want to stay on the team. If I were in your place, I would have had the dignity of not re-applying.
