Will see… training pace and technique will keep options open…

2+ seasons in and I'm nearer every week to throwing away my youth school.

In years of playing this game, before, twice, and now, my youth school is always pretty awful.

In roughly 7 combined actual years(so like 14-18 seasons), I've only ever pulled maybe 8 players above formidable. only 1 magical ever.

I've never sold a youth pull for more than 250K, unless I trained them for multiple seasons first.

I'm probably gonna give it one more season, and then, put the million dollars it takes a season to run it into something else.

Some of these guys will get sacked soon, but here's what it looks like now.

Your school doesn't look so bad. You have a lot of very young 16-17 year old juniors. I hope luck will be on your side in the draw. I see that you have promoted a very good defender Zeus Woodman, who is in the USA U21 NT squad. I too have lost more on my school than I have gained, but I have the satisfaction of running it.

Do you have a brilliant or better coach and keep 6 open slots each week? Looks like you have a good program with lots of younger trainees. I would suggest looking into Gestons calculator to get a better idea of talent and terminal skill estimates before sacking players.

Hopefully you can get a few talented 16 year olds once players age this weekend! It's really hard to be patient as I did not have a viable trainee for >9 months when I first opened my YS as most players get sacked even upon exiting. The few players that I had come out incredible or greater I got lucky in the first few weeks into the season as 16 year olds.

Very few people make money on their youth school without training them first, but it makes this game much more interesting! For example, I had an incredible trainee come out last month and sell for 30k but after 1 month of training someone sold them for 900k this past weekend. Also, I bought a young midfielder for 30K who trained into a starting midfielder for #2 U21 Spain and have been offered millions for them. It all comes down to luck and it can change any moment.

Here is my YS for comparison:

Salvatore Moose 16 good [7] outfield 2

@Mr. T: Bert Macy looks like a monster.... and Presley isn't shabby

I have a brilliant YS coach.
I keep the maximum number of spots open at the beginning of the year and weekly make sure I have 3-4 sports open no matter what.
2023-06-14 18:32:22
from what I recall from a decade ago, you need to keep six spots open - always. Otherwise, you run the risk of rng not giving you the one OP youth a year. The game randomly fills your spots, so if you have 4 spots available the game might have given you a "Bert Macy" type player in slot 6 but you missed out.
2023-06-14 19:11:13
True, there are still 1 to 6 new juniors to join YS every Saturday. Therefore, to maximize your chances of getting a great junior, you must always have 6 open slots.

My youths… I usually have more than 6 slots open (close to 10 really). I have an Unearthly coach. No complaints about it. Revealing youth’s skills when they are promoted is one of the nice things about the game. Sometimes it panes out, other times di not (like the one posted above with nice potential but terrible skills distribution).

Manny Bradford 18 formidable [11] outfield 1
Walker Magee 18 solid [8] outfield 3
Pat Eldridge 18 very good [9] outfield 3
Bruce Leonard 17 good [7] outfield 3
Tony White 18 excellent [10] outfield 4

Delmer Robertson 17 very good [9] outfield 11
Rodney Abren 16 solid [8] outfield 11

Alvis Rhodes 18 very good [9] outfield 13
Prince Perry 17 average [5] outfield 13
Ken Hardin 18 excellent [10] outfield 14
Xerxes Urbina 16 average [5] outfield 14
Levi Unitas 17 average [5] GK 15

Cory Heinz 17 very good [9] outfield 20

Ehh if you swap his technique and passing skills he would be fantastic.

Nothing worse than having the highest skills’ levels at Passing and Striker … lol
2023-06-15 18:46:59
striker and defense? :D

I have a striker with excellent playmaking lol, I think that's why he was so inexpensive. :D
